Procurement and supply, specified to the requirement and delivered to site.
Kelverstone manages the complete supply chain for institutional buyers in The Gambia and West Africa — from the technical specification to installed, commissioned and supported equipment.
Procurement in West Africa is rarely lost on price. It is lost on specification gaps, grey-market products without valid warranties, equipment that cannot be powered or serviced locally, consignments held at the port, and installations that no one was trained to operate.
Kelverstone is structured to close those gaps. Specification, sourcing and commercial control sit in London; clearance, delivery, installation and support are coordinated in The Gambia; and one contract holds the whole chain together.
The complete supply process
Fourteen steps, each with a named owner and a written output. The client can see where the order is at every point between specification and support.
- 01
Needs assessment
Site visit or remote review of the service, users, space, power, water and existing equipment. The requirement is written down before anything is priced.
- 02
Technical specification
Performance-based specifications that name standards rather than brands, so that the client can compete the requirement fairly.
- 03
OEM and supplier identification
Manufacturers and their authorised distributors are identified first. Authorisation letters are obtained so warranties and service support are valid in The Gambia.
- 04
Commercial comparison
Like-for-like comparison of price, delivery time, warranty, spares, consumables and whole-life cost, presented to the client in writing.
- 05
Procurement
Purchase orders and supply contracts with defined delivery terms (Incoterms), payment milestones, warranty start dates and documentation requirements.
- 06
Quality assurance
Conformity documentation, serial-number records and, where required, pre-shipment inspection before goods leave the manufacturer.
- 07
Freight
Sea freight via the Port of Banjul or air freight via Banjul International Airport, chosen on cost, urgency and the nature of the goods.
- 08
Customs
Import documentation, duty and exemption handling with the Gambia Revenue Authority, managed through licensed clearing agents.
- 09
Warehousing
Secure short-term storage where site readiness and delivery do not align.
- 10
Last-mile delivery
Delivery to site, unloading, positioning and checking against the packing list with the client's representative.
- 11
Installation
Installation by manufacturer-trained engineers, or by local technicians working to the manufacturer's instructions under supervision.
- 12
Commissioning
Testing against the specification, with signed acceptance records and serial numbers entered in the client's asset register.
- 13
Training
User and first-line maintenance training with attendance records and written guides left on site.
- 14
Maintenance and after-sales support
Warranty administration, planned maintenance, spare parts and a named contact for faults.
Supply categories
Dental equipment and materials
Dental chairs and delivery systems, sterilisation, imaging, handpieces, restorative and prosthetic materials, dental laboratory products.
Other categories are sourced against a specific requirement. Tell us what you need to buy and we will say plainly whether we can supply it with valid manufacturer support in The Gambia.
Commercial and integrity controls
- Suppliers are checked for legal existence, authorisation to sell the product and relevant sanctions lists before any order.
- Specifications are written to be competed fairly; Kelverstone does not write a specification around a single product unless the client instructs it with a documented reason.
- Every quotation states what is and is not included — freight, duty, installation, training, warranty — so that bids can be compared honestly.
- No facilitation payments. Kelverstone does not offer or pay inducements to secure contracts, clearance or approvals.
